Fire

Fire is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science as well as one of the five Chinese elements. It was commonly associated with the qualities of energy, assertiveness, and passion. In my paintings it is represented by warm colors painted with dynamic, loose brush strokes. My Vienna and Asia Period is a representation of that.

Asian Period – Geisha Series

Although this is a recent series from 2012 the inspiration still dates back from my time in Asia. The sketch like painting method refers to the ink painting style and the reserved cool geishas form a good contrast to the warm colors which I usually use for the On fire series. These two styles do blend perfectly in this Series.
